Incorporating a stylus into a pen liberates in totality its movements through the surface of the vinyl, in what was only possible when through the static and predetermined movements that the arm of the turtable allows. It works when plugging in the pen into an amplifier. The vinyl record can be now approached as if one's facing a white canvas ready to be "scratched".
